This anthology focusses on some historical figures of modern India and their contributions in the development of nationalism and national integrity in India across language, religion, region and other barriers. One essay addresses the current issues. Another tries to highlight the present tasks against the caste segregation and oppression. It also contains an essay on the real history of development of science and technology in ancient and medieval India. One essay addresses the issue of scientific method from various angles. Lastly we have included two tracts on the life and activities of Tipu Sultan, and the episodes of Aurangzeb, around whom the Hindutwa lobby has been recently very active in creating a misinformed campaign.

অশোক মুখোপাধ্যায় (১৯৫৪-) দীর্ঘদিনের একজন মার্ক্সবাদী সার্বক্ষণিক কর্মী (১৯৭০-২০০৭)। সক্রিয় রাজনীতির মঞ্চ ছেড়ে সরে এসে এখন তিনি বিজ্ঞান আন্দোলন ও মানবাধিকার আন্দোলনের সঙ্গে যুক্ত এবং সেই সঙ্গে মার্ক্সীয় দর্শনের ভিত্তিতে বিজ্ঞানের ইতিহাস সমাজতত্ত্ব ও দর্শনের উপর পড়াশুনা ও অপ্রাতিষ্ঠানিক গবেষণায় মগ্ন। বিভিন্ন বাংলা ও ইংরাজি পত্রপত্রিকা এবং পোর্টালে তিনি নিয়মিত লেখালেখি করেন।
